I've always been a questioning child. My parents taught me that if I don't understand something ask why, if I don't agree with something don't follow it. Simply put, they taught me to be an individual. With this teaching, I started questioning the religion of the family, which is Christian. I was baptized and had my communion in the Roman Catholic faith. This is my paternal grandmother's denomination. My maternal grandmother is a Seventh Day Adventist. I have family that is Baptist, Orthodox, Lutheran and more. Again, basically all Christian. The reason I mention this is because I would like you to understand that I am aware of the Christian faith and it's various beliefs, I think it is a fine religion but it's not for me.
As a young girl I did as I was taught and questioned. Questions that no priest was able to provide a good answer to such as: "Why are babies baptized if Jesus died for all our sins, including the original sin?" and "Why do you pray to saints when that is a form of an idol and specifically against The Ten Commandments?" I've gotten many reasons, but no answer. With that, I shied away from the Christian religion and began submersing myself in information on other religions. I looked into Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Taoism, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses and finally Paganism.
With all that research I realized all these religions have things in common, most have the same foundation of being one with yourself, harming none, accepting others and honoring the gift of the earth. They each usually have a certain geographic location with which they stemmed from and that is the basis for their holy books, works or ideals. All in all, a person may choose any one of these religions and they aren't any worse for it. They still are as good or bad as they wish to be no matter the religion. That said, I am a firm believer of letting people choose the religion they wish to follow no one religion is perfect or "the religion." We all choose our own path in life and selecting the religion that best suits our progression through life and helps us become better people is an important part of that path.
So here I am now, having selected the path that best suits me. This section
of my site is mostly to inform on the true ways of Wicca. I do not claim all
information applies to all Wiccans as it also has various denominations. I do
claim that what is here is my belief in the religion. So without further ado.
